Brandon Wood Farm is a day opportunity providing training and support for adults with a learning disability. Brandon has started to develop many social enterprises after meeting with carers, service users and other stakeholders. They have set up their own steering group with all parties being represented.
Work was done to identify areas where potential enterprise could be developed with service users identifying their area of interest. From the consultation it was decided that the focus of the enterprise development would be horticulture, woodcraft, educational visits for schools, sale of farm produce (ie eggs) and catering.
Rather than operating as 2 seperate organisations it was agreed that the social enterprises at Curriers and Brandon Wood farm would operate under the same legal structure. As a result of this agreement two additional directors joined the board of the company. Jo Ann Dundas, the manager of the farm, and Pauline Dyde, CEO of the Coventry Carers Centre.
