History

Curriers Enterprises was established in 1984 as a sheltered workshop for learning work skills for people with learning disabilities.

In 2006, in our approach to modernising day opportunities, service users were supported in exploring their interests, skills, and aspirations through a variety of consultation methods such as surveys, individual meetings, and reviews.

We explored various new activites that could lead to the development of new social enterises to run as proper businesses. The development of indivduals training needs were also identified and initial individual learning plans developed.

Focus groups and meetings were held with parents/carers, service users, and other stakeholders (such as the Learning Disabilities partnership board who have broadly supported the development of enterprises).  This was supported by Adult Education resulting in our new vision to develop social enterprises.
