Six people with learning disabilities are involved in the gardening enterprise. Recently they created a sensory garden at Maurice Edelman House. Maurice Edelman House is a registered care facility for people with learning disabilities and also provides carers with a break from caring. This took three weeks to complete. Three sensory gardens were established focusing on the senses of smell, sight, touch and hearing. These are especially important in enabling people with learning disabilities to experience the world around them. Nicholas Arnold, Senior support worker at Curriers supports the enterprise and said that "Everyone involved in developing the gardens has thoroughly enjoyed the experience and is looking forward to doing the next project".
The funding for this initiative was provided by the Coventry Learning Disabilities Partnership Board. If you live in Coventry and would like a quote for any kind of garden work please give us a call.
