Educational visits

Brandon Wood Farm Educational Visits.

Consultation with some Coventry schools has indicated a need for primary schools to have a place where groups of children can go to meet the countryside environmental aspects of their educational curriculum. Brandon Wood Farm provides an excellent opportunity to meet this need and develop a social enterprise whereby adults with learning disabilities can provide this educational learning to school children with the support of the staff.

Initially the visits will focus on four areas of visits for school children, animal care, horticulture, environmental awareness and natural art, with a programme in each of these areas orientated for a specific age group.

Member of the farm have done training through CEVAS (Countrywide Educational Visits Accreditation Scheme), the national certification necessary for the farm to run educational visits. The farm will become formally registered as a consequence of CEVAS assessment and training.
